Department of Clinical Toxicology was formed in 2011. The department continues tradition of Gdańsk Clinical Toxicology Center, which started service in 1972, initially as Acute Poisonings Unit, and since 1981 as I Department of Internal Medicine and Acute Poisonings.
Research and teaching activities of the department are conducted in cooperation with Pomeranian Centre of Toxicology which has been the Regional Clinical Toxicology Unit for Pomeranian and Warmian-Masurian Voivodeships since 2008.
