TEACHING

Pathology is a branch of medicine dealing with etiopathogenesis, the course and consequences of diseases basing on the functional and structural changes of the cells, tissues and organs. It plays crucial role in medical education connecting basic clinical sciences with the clinical ones.
Pathology analyses the disease on several layers – from molecular, biochemical, functional up to structural changes.
General pathology analyses analyses the morphological and pathophysiological phenomena classifying and defining general groups and types of changes.
Systemic pathology analyses the alterations in specific organs or systems, considering the disease entities in order to correlate the pathomechanisms with morphological changes in micro and macro scale, clinical symptoms and possible course of the disease.
Neuropathology is a unique specialty dealing with pathology of central and peripheral nervous systems on the levels of gross anatomy, microscopic and molecular.
