MISSION

The research topics of the Department of Physiopathology are mainly related to
- cellular and molecular mechanisms of participation of lymphocytes in the development and course of autoimmune diseases (in particular rheumatoid arthritis and other rheumatic diseases), as well as in chronic kidney disease – studies are carried out in the Experimental Rheumatology Laboratory, in cooperation with the Department of Pathology and Experimental Rheumatology, MUG
- cellular and molecular mechanisms of participation of lymphocytes in human aging processes and the development of diseases related to old age (in particular Alzheimer’s disease and rheumatoid arthritis) – research is carried out in the Laboratory of Biogerontology and Cellular Pathology, from 2011 included in the Global Process Research Network Aging (Global Aging Research Network) under the aegis of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics.
