ABOUT US

The Department of Environmental Toxicology is a scientific unit that carries out research in the field of chemistry, environmental ecotoxicology and microbiology in line with the One Health concept.

Scientific activity profile:
  • assessment of air quality, including in-door air,
  • assessment of chemical and ecotoxicological quality of water, sediments and materials deposited in the environment,
  • chemical and ecotoxicological assessment of the influence of municipal and business activity in seaside areas on marine ecosystem,
  • selected features of environmental impact on human health.
Research areas of particular interest:
  • model investigations of volatile organic compounds emissions from building and furnishing materials,
  • evaluation of indoor air quality in the public utilities and other,
  • search of new tools for air quality assessment,
  • ecotoxicological research with application of microbiotests, search for correlation with physicochemical and microbiological analyses,
  • search for new indicators of environmental contamination impact on human health in bodily fluids.
