Background/ Research activities Habilitated Doctor of Health Sciences, PhD in Earth Sciences, Master of Law. He is specialized in assessing the impact of environmental factors on human health at the molecular level. His research activity focuses on epigenetic markers of DNA damage as well as the role of oxidative stress in the initiation and progression of pathological changes. He investigates the mechanisms by which environmental exposures affect the genome and the biological responses to such exposures, with particular emphasis on early biomarkers of DNA alterations. He combines academic work with professional practice as a court expert in environmental protection and marine chemistry. He supports public institutions and the private sector in environmental risk management and in making evidence-based decisions. He is also a certified lead auditor of management systems compliant with ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards, as well as an internal auditor of occupational health and safety management systems in accordance with ISO 45001.
