MISSION

The Department of Environmental Toxicology is a scientific unit that carries out research in the field of chemistry and environmental ecotoxicology.

Scientific activity profile:
  • assessment of air quality, including in-door air,
  • assessment of chemical and ecotoxicological quality of water, sediments and materials deposited in the environment;
  • chemical and ecotoxicological assessment of the influence of municipal and business activity in seaside areas on marine ecosystem
  • selected features of environmental impact on human health
Research areas of particular interest:
  • model investigations of volatile organic compounds emissions from building and furnishing materials,
  • evaluation of indoor air quality in the public utilities and other
  • search of new tools for air quality assessment
  • ecotoxicological research with application of microbiotests, search for correlation with physicochemical analyses
  • search for new indicators of environmental contamination impact on human health in bodily fluids
